Many of the Dale of Norway staff have worked in the company most of their lives, often following in the footsteps of their parents and grandparents. This gives them a unique expertise in wool and knitwear. Lorents Tvedt has worked 35 years at the factory, since he was only 17 years old. He left the company for a few years to get his degree as a Textile Engineer. Today, he is in charge of the knitting department.
Dale of Norway is one of the very few textile companies with production in Norway. This makes the skilled staff able to pay close attention to every stage of the production process, which ensures the premium quality of every Dale of Norway garment. Since the factory is a “laboratory†of highly experienced workers, Dale of Norway has continuously been able to launch world-leading innovations within wool and knitwear. The garments are complicated to make given the quality, but the results are simply outstanding
Making garments to the standard of Dale of Norway is no small feat. It all starts by selecting the very best wool and yarn qualities. The talented team of Dale designers creates beautiful patterns, and the skilled technicians develop and test every garment before production. No shortcuts are taken; even details such as the pewter clasps, woven bands and leather patches are made in Norway.
