This August, Dale of Norway took stage at Oslo Runway 2025 with an event unlike any other: a panel talk docked at the island of Hovedøya in the Oslofjord, where craft met conversation, sheep wandered freely, and heritage met the horizon.

Crafting the Future: The Panel Talk

Moderated by UK-based journalist and consultant Ezreen Benissan, the conversation brought together voices from the design and textile industries to reflect on the importance of preserving—and evolving—traditional skilled trades. From knitting and sewing to technical production, the panel explored how local, heritage-driven brands like Dale of Norway can help inspire a new generation of artisans, designers, and craftspeople.

“How do we bring tradition into the future?” was one of the core questions posed as we looked at the role of brands, design schools, and media in shaping the next chapter for Norwegian craft.

The audience was also treated to a live styling session, showcasing how timeless knitwear can remain relevant in modern wardrobes—bridging generational tastes without compromising quality or authenticity.

Beyond the Catwalk: Our Role in the Next Generation

For Dale of Norway, this panel was more than a one-day conversation. It’s part of our long-term vision to support sustainable production, local knowledge, and the people behind every garment. In a time when fashion often moves fast and far, we’re proud to anchor our values in slow, meaningful craftsmanship—while making room for innovation and inclusion in the industry’s future.

Through events like this, we aim not only to honor our past but also to open doors for the next generation. Whether it’s through collaboration with schools, apprenticeships in textile trades, or partnerships across creative industries, we believe that tradition only survives if it evolves.

The Seams That Bind

From the calm waters of Oslofjord to the threads that make up our iconic knits, Behind the Seams reminded us that true craftsmanship has a place in the future—if we choose to value it.

We’re grateful to Oslo Runway for the platform, to our panelists for their insights, and to all those who joined us on Hovedøya. And yes, to the sheep, too.
