A skin soft merino wool cardigan influenced by the fashion trends of the early 20th century. Featuring Norwegian patterns, decorative roll-up cuff and flattering side panels – a nod to the corset shape.

Our superwash merino wool is one of the finest wool qualities available.

Coming from merino sheep living in a warm climate, merino has very fine and long staple fibers, giving a very smooth next-to-skin comfort.

Naturally, our wool is mulesing-fee. Garments knitted with Zefir can be machine washed using wool-cycle. (Fiber diameter: 20.5 micron)

This jacket is named after Christiania, a well-known woman’s name from Norwegian history and the former name of Norway’s capital city, Oslo. 

In 1893 the Norwegian explorer Fridtjof Nansen embarked on his famous North Pole expedition with the «Fram» ship. However, the North Pole proved impossible to reach. On his return to Christiania he was celebrated as a national hero. Even though he failed to reach the North Pole, no man before him had been this close and no one been this far North.

In 2012 we launched the stylish Christiania jacket, inspired by Nansen’s sucessful return, named after the Norwegian capital. The flattering silhouette and slimming side panels are nods to the corsets from the Nansen era, when Oslo was named Christiania. The design is inspired by old Dale patterns.
