The Hardanger jacket is a windproof, retro-inspired wool jacket designed for year-round wear. Knitted from 100% longl-lasting Norwegian wool, it offers exceptional warmth, durability, and breathability, making it a reliable outerwear piece for all seasons. The jacket features a windproof lining, high neck, and two practical zippered pockets, combining classic Norwegian knitwear with functional design.

Part of Dale of Norway’s Windproof collection, the Hardanger is our lightest windproof garment, specially engineered for the Nordic climate where comfort and protection go hand in hand.

While colorways C01 and T01 are made from 100% Norwegian wool, colorway M00 uses premium undyed lightweight wool, showcasing the natural hues of the animal fiber. This approach highlights the beauty and authenticity of natural wool while preserving its original qualities — resulting in a garment that feels as natural as it looks timeless.

The undyed version of our Hardanger Windproof jacket (color M00) is made from premium undyed lightweight wool from Uruguay, utilizing the natural colors of the animal fiber, ranging from darker to brighter tones. These different shades are sorted and blended into mélanges, creating a limited range of natural colors. Since there is no dyeing process involved, the yarn remains 100% natural and biodegradable. The absence of dyeing eliminates the need for the chemicals typically used in this process, while also conserving resources like water and energy.

This is a reinterpretation of our Hardanger jacket from the late nineties. The name comes from the region south of Bergen, widely known for its fruit blossom and magnificent scenery.
